Practical change, made locally.
MCFP operates a community library that provides a safe, conducive place for children in informal settlements to study after school and during holidays. The library serves about 100 children and also creates opportunities for life-skills learning.

People, purpose,
and possibility.
What this work makes possible
Small changes can open bigger possibilities.
- 01A place to learn: A spacious study room, books, chairs, and study tables support extra study and reading.
- 02Community supervised: Two volunteers who are former beneficiaries help keep the library safe and welcoming.
- 03Learning beyond the library: Schools use a library hour for each grade, and teachers visit for personal research.
- 04Life skills: Children build leadership, self-awareness, creativity, critical thinking, decision-making, communication, and emotional intelligence.
