Happy International Womens day! Meet Leah:
Leah who lives in Mathare slum became pregnant as a teenager and was not able to continue school. She attended our 6 months vocational tailoring program for teenage mothers. Already during the program she had a few customers and was able to save some money to buy her own sewing machine. Soon after graduating she started her own tailoring business and is now also producing MCFpanairobi's famous "Heart Shopping Bags".
This weekend she was given a chance to sell and promote our heart shopping bags at the German Church where a special service was conducted to commemorate the "Women's World Day of Prayer". After a short briefing she was able to manage the sales stand completely by herself. The demand for our bags was high and it turned out to be one of the most successful sales.
Note that the dress she was wearing was designed and made by herself!

Kudos to Leah - we are proud of you!
